The Yellow Torrish is one of the classic traditional salmon flies akin to the famous Jock Scott, Green Highlander and black Doctor series of salmon flies. Unfortunately it has seemingly gone out of fashion like the rest, until now. It’s back! Ron has totally transformed the pattern for season 2025 especially for spring fishing as black & yellow is one of the big fave colour combos. This particular pattern was inspired by the 70th Birthday of legendary spring angler Andy (Torrish) Sutherland who has caught so many opening day and early season spring salmon it is almost impossible to keep count!
We think it looks stunning and will also rekindle its prowess as a modern tube fly. Tied using a mix of traditional bucktail and black fox in the wing, Ron has added all the trending new vibes with his signature UV in the wing and body topped off with real Junglecock to make sure spring salmon will be very interested indeed!!
